Sublative RF Resurfacing Laser

Syneron Candela has created the Sublative to be the most revolutionary and effective resurfacing laser treatment available.

With Sublative RF we can

Improve fine lines and wrinkles
Reduce the appearance of large pore size
Smooth acne scarring or other scarring on the face or body
Improve textural irregularities
Improve the appearance of stretch marks

The Sublative is a fractionated bipolar radiofrequency that places heat effectively into the upper dermis where it can produce a significant increase in collagen and elastin production with minimal epidermal disruption and limited downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions about Sublative RF
How does Sublative work?
RF (radio frequency) energy is precisely directed into the skin in the form of a grid or dots. Healthy skin around the dots accelerates the healing process and collagen stimulation. Post treatment, new collagen and healthy skin cells are produced to reveal smoother, brighter, tighter and healthier skin.

Is there any downtime?
You should expect significant redness immediately following the treatment. This redness will typically last 1-2 days along with the potential for slight swelling. The “grid” marks from the laser hand piece can be seen on your skin for 3-4 days after treatment, but can be covered with makeup.

How does Sublative compare to other resurfacing laser treatments?
Other resurfacing treatments can be ablative requiring weeks of downtime and redness. Because the Sublative is a fractionated radiofrequency energy, your epidermis is left in tact and the downtime is significantly less. The Sublative is safe on mostly all skin colors and types with little to no risk of hyperpigmentation, scarring or downtime.

Can Sublative treat my stretch marks?
Yes! Sublative is one of very few treatments proven to show significant improvement in the treatment of stretch marks.

When can I expect to see results?
Most patients achieve their desired results after 3-5 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

Is the treatment painful?
During treatment, many patients feel a warm, prickly sensation as the pulses are emitted onto their skin. After treatment, a red “sunburn” appearance and feel is also common. Topical numbing cream is applied prior to reduce discomfort during treatment.

What do I need to do before and after my Sublative treatment?
You must discontinue any exfoliating products including alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) serums, scrubs, retinol night creams and topical prescriptions (Triluma, Retin-A, Tretinoin etc…) for at least 5 days prior to and 5 days after your treatment.

You must avoid wearing any makeup for at least 12 hours after your Sublative treatment.

It is very important to apply sunscreen daily after this treatment, as your skin will be more sensitive to the sun’s damaging rays

How does Sublime RF Skin Tightening work?

Sublime combines bi-polar radio frequency technology and pulsed light to precisely heat the dermal tissue in your skin. The heated molecules deep inside the dermis stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the area, resulting in firmer, smoother and younger looking skin.

What to expect from your Sublime RF Skin Tightening Treatment

Sublime is a good option for men and women with mild skin laxity and superficial fine lines and wrinkles. With no surgical incisions or artificial fillers, this gentle, comfortable treatment requires no downtime and results look natural and healthy. Cooling of the skin’s surface through the use of our exclusive chilled applicator tip provides enhanced safety and additional comfort.

Sublime RF Skin Tightening Aftercare

Most of our guests return to normal activities immediately after the treatment. Typically, you will see gradual and cumulative results throughout your Sublime treatment series. The total number of required treatment sessions depends on your specific skin type and condition and usually varies between 1 to 5 sessions.

While each person is different, most of our guests achieve excellent results from our skin rejuvenation programs. Even so, you will continue to age as you expose yourself to the sun and other environmental elements. What you can do is come back for regular touch-ups. Our clinicians will recommend the best maintenance plan for you.

IPL Treatment

Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy is a way to improve the color and texture of your skin without surgery. It can undo some of the visible damage caused by sun exposure — called photoaging. You may notice it mostly on your face, neck, hands, or chest.

IPL may help if you have red, brown, or splotchy skin because of a health condition.

How it Works

IPL uses light energy to target a certain color in your skin.

When the skin is heated, your body gets rid of the unwanted cells, and that gets rid of the thing you’re being treated for. Unlike lasers, an IPL device sends out more than one wavelength of pulsating light. It can treat a range of skin conditions at the same time.

After IPL, you may look younger because your skin tone is more even. And since the light doesn’t hurt other tissue, you can get better quickly.

Who Should Get It?

It works best if you have pale or light brown skin.

Who Shouldn’t Get It?

Talk to your doctor first if you:

IPL isn’t a good idea if you:

  • Are sensitive to light
  • Have recently tanned your skin using sunlight, tanning beds, or tanning creams
  • Might have skin cancer
  • Use a retinoid cream
  • Have very dark skin

How well IPL works can depend on what you want the treatment to fix.

Redness: After one to three treatments, light therapy can get rid of 50%-75% of broken blood vessels for most people. They could completely go away. While treated veins don’t come back, new ones might show up later. Your skin may be red or bruised for a day or two. Some of your brown spots may get darker, but they should peel off within a few weeks.

While you heal:

  • Don’t put on makeup if your skin hurts.
  • Use moisturizing lotion.
  • Protect yourself with sunscreen. Make sure it has an SPF of at least 30 and a physical blocker like zinc. Reapply it every 2 hours, even if it’s not sunny outside.
  • Wash your face with cleanser for sensitive skin.

Most people get between three and seven sessions. It depends on the condition you’re treating. You’ll wait 2-4 weeks between each visit. It may take several weeks for you to notice any changes in your skin.

IPL can make your skin look better, but it can’t stop future aging. It also can’t help the condition that affected your skin. You can get follow-up treatment once or twice a year to maintain your look.

CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing is a treatment to reduce facial wrinkles and skin irregularities, such as blemishes or acne scars.

The technique directs short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin, precisely removing skin layer by layer. This popular procedure is also called laserbrasion, laser peel, or laser vaporization.

Who Is a Good Candidate For Laser Resurfacing?

If you have fine lines or wrinkles around your eyes or mouth or on your forehead, shallow scars from acne, or non-responsive skin after a facelift, then you may be a good candidate for laser skin resurfacing.

If you have acne or if you have very dark skin, you may not be a candidate. This technique is also not recommended for stretch marks. You should discuss whether laser resurfacing is right for you by consulting with the doctor before having the procedure done.

How Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Work?

The two types of lasers most commonly used in laser resurfacing are carbon dioxide (CO2) and erbium. Each laser vaporizes skin cells damaged at the surface-level.

CO2 Laser Resurfacing

This method has been used for years to treat different skin issues, including wrinkles, scars,  warts, enlarged oil glands on the nose, and other conditions.

The newest version of CO2 laser resurfacing (fractionated CO2) uses very short pulsed light energy (known as ultrapulse) or continuous light beams that are delivered in a scanning pattern to remove thin layers of skin with minimal heat damage. Recovery takes up to two weeks.
